Introduction to Lithography at londonprintstudio

Another fun Introduction to Stone Lithography held at londonprintstudio. Last week we discovered the joys of drawing on this special Bavarian limestone, printing in black and in colour and making lovely lithographs.

Islington Contemporary Art and Design Fair 11/12 October

             

Myself and Valentina Biga have been invited to share a stand at this year's Islington Contemporary Art and Design Fair. It will be hosted by Candid Arts Galleries in Angel.
Valentina is an artist printmaker specialising in etching, and I am very excited to be showing our work together.
We will be showing in Part 2 of a 3 week festival. We will be exhibiting our prints on Saturday 11th October and Sunday 12th October. Come to the opening on Friday evening between 5pm and 7pm, or drop in on the weekend. We hope to see you there!

Photopolymer for Intaglio 1 Day Course

I have just taught a one day Introduction to Photopolymer course at londonprintstudio. The group was lovely and we all enjoyed working together and coming out with fantastic results. We had printmakers, photographers and even a jewellery maker in the group. Everyone was interested in learning how to transfer a photographic image into a print with similar results to etching. The course is geared to absolute beginners so no previous experience is necessary. All you need is the will to learn something new and have fun! The next course will be in October. London Design Festival 2014: LPS Open Studio 2014

This Saturday- 13 September 2014, as part of London Design Festival,  londonprintstudio will be hosting an open day. Everyone is welcome to come and see the studio, where I will be giving some demonstrations. We will be showing you the ins and outs of screenprinting, lithography, etching and letterpress. Come in and say hi and have a chat! I would love to see you there and show you all about printmaking. The gallery will also be opening its latest exhibition "Wallpaper" so do stay on and come and meet the artists.

Introduction to Stone Lithography Courses are held every 2 months at londonprintstudio, one of the few print studios in London still active and teaching this wonderful technique.

2 Day Introduction to Screen Printing Courses are run every month at londonprintstudio.

The Course encourages group and individual work, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere resulting each participant leaving with 2 collaborative prints and 1 individual 2 colour print.

Members Summer Exhibition 2014

Contemporary fine art prints produced by current londonprintstudio members.

A collaborative work by myself and Tom Moore will be on exhibition. Our prints will be located on the streets leading from the surrounding local tube stations towards the print studio. Keep an eye out!

londonprintstudio launches its annual Summer Members show on Thursday 26th June with an exhibition of beautiful prints produced in the studio by established and emerging artists. The exhibition is an opportunity to see the range of prints produced in the studio by artists working in varied styles and with different techniques, from lithographs etchings and woodcuts to screen prints.

The prints were selected by Gill Saunders, Senior Curator of Prints at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The final show was selected from over 80 submissions, many more than submitted last year. John Phillips, Director of londonprintstudio said 'We saw a great deal of high quality work among the submissions, and while we put together a focussed and attractive exhibition, it was sad to see that some excellent prints were not included.'

Stone Lithography at londonprintstudio

Stone Lithography Courses at londonprintstudio are scheduled regularly. I have just completed teaching an Introduction to Stone Lithography last week. The course took place in londonprintstudio over two days. We covered the basics of stone lithography using crayons to draw. We also covered colour printing    and even produced a two colour reductive print. Everyone had a great time and produced fun images. I'll be  teaching another Introduction to Introduction to Stone Lithography in londonprintstudio in July.
